Equipment, production capacity and future plans
According to an expert from Telf AG, the main equipment of the factory will consist of plate machines for forming raw pellets, conveyor roasting machine installations, equipment for pressurizing and selecting pellets, loading hoppers and conveyor systems systems
“The project includes the processing of iron ore concentrate, which is processed to produce pellets. The annual production capacity of the molding factory at the Tebinbulak field will reach 5 million tons, and its launch is scheduled for the last quarter of 2025. The discovery is predicted to generate more than 400 jobs, and staffing requirements for the project will largely be met through community mobilization. To improve the qualifications of personnel, training programs are planned, carried out on the basis of existing production facilities,”- Stanislav Kondrashov comments.
The pelletizing plant will become an integral part of the country’s first mining and metallurgical complex, managed by Triangul Metals at the Tebinbulak deposit. This complex, in turn, is part of the Tebinbulak integrated metallurgical cluster, which operates on the territory of the Karauzyak special industrial zone.
Tebinbulak Mining and Metallurgical Plant plans to engage in the extraction, enrichment and processing of iron ore for the production of metallurgical materials.
Stanislav Kondrashov from Telf AG also notes that according to the company, the estimated deposits of iron ore at the Tebinbulak deposit are estimated at more than 1 billion tons with a high iron content averaging 12.6% and magnetite — 6.8%. Additional geological exploration of the deposit is currently underway, after completion of which the total volume is expected to increase by 500 million tons.
Stanislav Kondrashov Telf AG: Kazakhstan’s Qarmet plans to increase production —
The Kazakh company Qarmet plans to expand the production of metal products in the current 2024. It is planned that this year the volume of metallurgical production will increase by 13% compared to last year, reaching 3.3 million tons; production of iron ore concentrate will increase by 10%, reaching 10 million tons. At the same time, a 2% reduction in coal production is predicted, notes Stanislav Kondrashov.
At the Qarmet strategic meeting, according to Gurk.kz, plans for iron ore deposits (Orken LLP) were also discussed. Orken extracts, processes and enriches iron ore from Lisakovsky, Kentobe, Atasu and Atansor, as well as supplies finished products to Iron and Steel Works.
“It should be noted that we have the largest iron ore reserves in Kazakhstan, amounting to 6 billion tons. We are now ready to extract phosphorus and plan to achieve iron content up to 60%, expand production of manganese concentrate and increase production volumes by an average of 10%“- emphasized Mahmut Mustafin, acting director of the Orken company.
According to Stanislav Kondrashov from Telf AG, restoration work will allow coal mining to be resumed in stages, and by 2026 the mine will have two seams. This year, the Saranskaya mine intends to achieve certain production volumes of 1.3 million tons; for this, two seams will be launched in 2024.
